Just a little note on our Party we did in Dublin on Sunday .It was for a client who wanted to bring her daughters Wedding party to a close with a bang .We were asked to cater for this party and were delighted to do so .
On the Menu for the catering was slow cooked pig on a spit,Selection of salads and breads,hot potatoes and so much more with that .
We also did a fish dish of poached ,dressed whole Salmon which was great to do as it's a dish that for sure takes a lot of time to create but the end results are fantastic.
We worked with the client to get their ideas on there day and I think this always work as we left the party in full swing and a lot of happy guests.

Valentines day has passed and love is all around .We have received a lot of emails and calls from couples looking to put their own stamp on there special day and how better to do that than having the Whole Hog experience.
We have offered Wedding menu's to suit one and all .We take our time to make the best menu possible for our clients ,to make a menu that is personal to them .
Our next day wedding menu is very popular also as we bring our professional Pig on a spit menu's to our clients .This is a great idea to bring together your wedding party to a laid back ,slow cooking menu that suits our client's thoughts on a feel good ,easy going final party where their guests can kick back and relax and we do the work to make a party full of fun,enjoyment,Slow cooked tasty food and a couple of beers to finish off a once in a lifetime event for our couples.
With the communion season about to kick off ,we have put together a more traditional menu for our clients .With our Events menu we also offer menu selections like Beef stroganoff ,Chicken in a mushroom,pepper cream sauce ,to be honest ,there are so much options on out traditional menu option,it would take up an hour to write it down here so have a look and see for yourselves the tempting ,tasty food options that have come to be the corner stone of the Whole Hog, Pig on a spit, Event catering experience .

Just sending out to everyone who has travelled on this website and who have stopped to try the Whole Hog experience a wonderful and happy 2017.
2016 has been a great year for the Whole Hog,catering company.We again travelled all around Ireland with our pig on a spit doing Weddings ,birthday party's ,communions and confirmations .All different types of family get togethers .From kerry to Mayo,limerick,galway ,cork and Dublin,the Whole Hog vans have seen all these Irish counties and lots more besides.
We will be again be happy to serve the brides and grooms,husbands and wives and party people again in 2017 for all your catering needs.
Finally ,all is well with the world ,The sunshine has arrived for all of us to enjoy .A couple of catering events today ,one in the great county of Cork and another in Galway .
BBQ seems to be the order of the day today but also the Whole Hog ,pig on the spit is always popular .Two Out side catering today and with weather like this ,where else would you want to be .We catered a Wedding last week in Clare and the weather was fantastic for it ,Slow roasted pork and Beef on Platters with crusty breads and roasted veggies and potatoes, .The whole country seemed happy .
The Communion season is here so all vans are out ,cooking for the little darlings and there proud family's .Our Communion catering menu is as always popular but we listen to all our clients and try and get the best for them .Slow roasted pork or Lamb on the spit is always a crowd pleaser.
We have added special infused gravy's to add a different taste sensation .We infuse fresh herbs,garlic ,red wine and meat juices to make a gravy that is out of this world .This just adds a new dimension to the lamb or the pig on the spit .

And the weather has finally changed for the better ,with the flowers blooming and the sun finally come out ,we here at he Whole Hog are again getting ready for a new spring/Summer season of BBQ's and hog roasts .The bookings are coming in and we are looking forward to going to new homes and family's and preparing wonderful pig's on spits and BBQ's for them .A lot of Communions this year which is great ,The prize at the moment for distance is Louisburgh in Co Mayo which really isn't that far but we like to entertain ourselves here at the Whole hog,
Weddings are a big this year with us as we have settled in working with venues like Blackwater Castle in Cork and Loughcrew house in Meath to create wonderful menus for there clients .We find that our menus expanding past the pig on the spit ,to meats like duck,Venison ,slow roasted beef and Lamb .Inquiry's from Galway for Lamb on the Spits ,Dublin for Fish Lovers ,all part of what we are doing now .The Website,thewholehog.ie ,I find these days is just a method of connecting with people and then the real work begins with what they would like to have for there very special day .
The Slow Roasted pig on the spit is still the talking point ,where we cook for hours and the smell fills the air of hot roasted meat .When people come in and see the machine and smell the food ,you can see there faces light up which is great for us and our clients as that's the experience that everyone one wants to have at there party. .

Happy new year and 2016 to all.I just wanted to let you know that we are taking bookings with the pig on the spit ,event catering for 20016.It's been exceptional busy since new years and really looking forward to 2016.
From Limerick,dublin,cork Galway and all over Ireland we have been taking bookings for our Famous Limerick pork on a spit and now with our Lamb on the spit also that just falls off the bone.it's just been great .We have worked hard over the christmas coming up with new menu options like slow roasted spiced Beef ,that is cooked long and easy so you just pick up a fork and it melts away by itself with only a little bit of pressure.BBQ fish with a lemon citrus and fresh herb infusion also is another of our menu choices for your Catering Event.
These can be added to all our pig on the spit menus for your events ,Weddings ,Christenings ,communion ,Confirmations and party's that you are having.
We are as always on email and on the phone taking calls and inquiries from all over Ireland for our Communions ,confirmation Menus .We are planning with our clients their Weddings and putting in place the Menus that they want for their bespoke Wedding Menus and Day.
Already we have some quirky Events lined up with Clients that want a party with a difference .We are always open to Idea's as that just makes life a little bit more interesting.It's great to see all our clients after working with them to have a special menu for them ,on the day enjoying themselves with a glass in there hands and chatting with their guests and family.

The easy way to to get the Whole hog ,pig on a spit /bbq catering experts to come and cater for you but if not here are a couple of marinades and rubs to put on your BBQ meats to bring them to next level .It's not as hard as you think and any thing goes just stick with the basic rule ,what works well together e.g thyme and lemon will work all the time for you ,no biggie ,

We like this here for ur own butterflied chicken fillets when we serve with the pig on the spit
This is our favourite here at the whole hog/pig on a spit and just did last week in Dublin for an event with our pig on a spit .this went with on our salmon .
Its so simple ,Jar bought Cajan spice ,A little lemon and thyme ,little oil ,mix together and there you go ,if you want a slightly less firey rub,simple less spice .
Use gloves with this one ,
3gloves of garlic ,
4tablespoons of lemon
mixes herbs ,dried or fresh,depends on the budget
e.g sage,thyme ,tarragon
salt and pepper .
blend this together ,use it as a dry rub or add some oil and marinade ,longer the better for the infusion
Congratulations to Pam and Darren who tied the knot at Blackwater castle in Co Cork .We were delighted to cater the Wedding with our Pig on the Spit /BBQ yesterday for 150 hungry guests .The weather was beautiful and the bride was even more so ,The smiles says it all really.

Just a quick word for John and Celine who tied the Knot on saturday in Clondalkin at the Aras Chronain club,We had the pleasure for catering for them and there guests on the day with Canapes ,Pig on the spit ,BBQ,and all the trimmings ,We had a great time there with the staff of the club especially Brian and Michelle .To all the guests and to John and Celine ,congrats on a wonderful day and I'm sure the night was full of fun and dance .Best Wishes for the future .
